Arc de Triomphe

Napoleon's triumphal arch (1836) crowns the western end of the Champs-Élysées at the centre of the Étoile. Beneath it lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where the eternal flame is rekindled every evening at 6:30 pm. Climb the 284 steps to the rooftop terrace for a sweeping panorama over the twelve radiating avenues.
